Indiegrrl Women in the Arts announces their 2009 Indiegrrl Songwriting
Contest.
Indiegrrl a non profit organization working to create networking,
educational, showcasing, and other opportunities announces the opening
of their 2009 Indiegrrl Women in the Arts Songwriting Contest. This
contest is open to women of all ages and all genres of music including
songs with or without lyrics. You do not have to be a member of
Indiegrrl to submit. Prize packages will be awarded to the top 5
place winners. The top 5 winners will get featured in a special
showcase on the main stage at the 2009 Indiegrrl Conference in
Nashville, TN along with a FREE pass to attend the conference. Also
the top 5 winners will have their song placed on the 2010 Indiegrrl
Compilation CD project and will get free memberships to Indiegrrl
Women in the Arts. Sponsors contributing to the prize packages are A
to Z Media, Indie Band Manager, Luna Guitars, Buffalo Creek Guitar,
Daisy Rock Guitar, D'Addario, Planet Waves, Evans, Spotted Kiva
Productions, G7th The Nashville Capo, Sonicbids and more.
Submissions can be made by mailing in a submission form along with a
CD of the song(s) you are submitting or through online submissions
with Sonicbids.

Contest rules state that you must identify as a female and you must
hold the copyright to your song(s). All co-written songs must have at
least one of the writers identify as a female. Entry fee is $10 per
song. There is no limit on the amount of songs you can submit.
Deadline to submit is April 1, 2009. All mail in submissions must
be postmarked by April 1, 2009.
